BABY'S WEIGHT
The weight of the baby is crucial when calculating the dosage of medicines
The baby generally loses weight slightly during the first days of life, and usually regains the weight within 7 to 9 days, doubling between the 4th and 6th months and tripling when the baby is 1 year old.
The baby’s weight should be recorded each time and compared with the previous values and should not be analyzed separately.
The results can then be compared to those in Table of Weight Percentiles according to age and the sex of the baby. If there is significant weight gain or weight loss in two or more weighings, the child should be referred to a doctor.
